Dogecoin Founder: “The World Can Benefit from a Little Dogecoin“72
Jackson Palmer, co-founder of Dogecoin, sat down recently to share his thoughts on the crypto-currency, the past few months, and what he thinks the future holds.
If you’ve been alive in the last month, you’ve probably heard of Dogecoin, the crypto-currency featuring a Shiba Inu – a breed of Japanese dog that has become an internet sensation – as a mascot. In that time, Doge has gone from $0.002 to over $0.10.
Palmer, who created Dogecoin with Billy Markus in 2013 as a joke, said that he never expected it to take off. He also said that he’s happy to see it being used for good, noting a recent donation that sent the Jamaican bobsled team to the Sochi Olympics, as well as Doge4Water, a community project that converted Dogecoin donations to clean water.
“The world can benefit from a little Dogecoin,” said Palmer.
Of course, the recent rise in value has led to some concerns about a bubble, with many experts predicting that it will crash soon. However, Palmer is not worried.
"I think it's possible that Dogecoin could hit $1," said Palmer. "I don't know if it will, but it's possible."
Regardless of what happens to the value of Dogecoin, Palmer is confident that it will continue to be used for good. He also believes that it could help to bring about a more decentralized and democratic financial system.
"I think Dogecoin has the potential to be a force for good in the world," said Palmer. "I'm excited to see what the future holds for it."
